Papaya-Chia Power Pudding

Papaya Chia Power Pudding

This papaya chia power pudding combines exotic delight with valuable nutrients. Papaya provides valuable enzymes that support digestion, while chia seeds score points with omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. Thanks to the almond protein porridge, the recipe is also rich in plant-based protein – perfect for an energy-rich start to the day or as a healthy snack in between. Fresh lemon, coconut, and roasted papaya seeds round off the flavor of the pudding and make it a nutrient-rich superfood highlight.

Effect on the three constitutions

  • Lung (Wind, movement):
The creamy consistency and the nourishing ingredients such as coconut milk, chia, and papaya have a calming and grounding effect. This balances the often restless and dry Lung.

  • Tripa (gallbladder, fire):
The refreshing papaya and lemon cool excess heat and support harmonious digestion. The recipe has a regulating and soothing effect on Tripa.

  • Beken (phlegm, water & earth):
Through the slight acidity of the lemon, the papaya enzymes, and the stimulating effect of the spices (vanilla, roasted seeds), Beken is mobilized. This prevents a feeling of heaviness and promotes lightness.

Ingredients:

  • 230g coconut milk
  • 30 g chia seeds
  • 15 g almond protein porridge (1 level tbsp)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder
  • 1/2 ripe papaya (approx. 300g) plus 4 tsp papaya seeds
  • Juice of half a lemon, plus zest
  • 1 small tsp psyllium husk powder
  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut chips (optional)

Preparation:

  1. If desired, mix the coconut milk with the chia seeds, almond protein porridge and vanilla in a bowl the evening before, leave to stand for 20 minutes, stir again and preferably pour into two screw-top jars.
  2. Meanwhile, blend the papaya with the lemon juice and zest, as well as a small tsp of psyllium husk powder, in a blender to make a smooth puree.
  3. Pour the papaya puree over the chia pudding in the jar and then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Before serving, heat the coconut oil in a pan and roast the coconut chips and papaya seeds in it, turning occasionally.
  5. Add as a topping to the chia pudding and enjoy.
