Ingredients for 2 cups
-
80 g Hokkaido pumpkin purée (cooked and finely puréed)
-
400 ml oat drink, ideally Barista Edition
-
2 espressos (or decaf)
-
1–2 tsp maple syrup or JOY date:SUGAR, to taste
-
½ tsp vanilla powder (optional)
-
A little cinnamon or morning:SOUL for sprinkling
How it's made
1. Prepare the pumpkin: If you are not using ready-made pumpkin purée, cut Hokkaido pumpkin into small pieces, steam until soft, and then purée very finely.
2. Prepare the spice base: Mix the pumpkin purée with morning:SOUL, maple syrup and vanilla in a small pot. Heat gently for about 2 minutes over medium heat so that the flavours can develop.
3. Whisk until creamy: Add the oat drink and heat while stirring, but do not let it boil. Then blend briefly with a milk frother or hand blender until a deliciously creamy consistency is achieved.
4. Prepare the espresso: Pour one freshly brewed espresso into two large cups or heat-resistant glasses.
5. Enjoy: Carefully pour the warm pumpkin spice milk in, spread the milk foam over the top, and finish with a small pinch of morning:SOUL.
JOY Tip
For a particularly velvety, café-like consistency, blend the pumpkin-milk mixture thoroughly before frothing. This way the pumpkin purée blends wonderfully with the oat drink.
Also delicious without coffee: Replace the espresso with some warm oat milk and enjoy your Pumpkin Spice Latte as a gentle, caffeine-free autumn drink – also ideal for the evening.
