Fluffiges Flohsamenschalen-Pfannenbrot

Fluffy psyllium husk skillet bread

This fluffy psyllium husk pancake bread is quick to prepare, easy to digest, and at the same time filling. Thanks to the combination of eggs, psyllium husks, and sesame seeds, a particularly airy yet structured consistency is created. It is excellent as a versatile base for savory or fresh dips and is gentle on the bowel due to the fiber-rich psyllium husks.

Effect on the Tibetan constitutions

Lung (Wind, movement):
The bread has a balancing and calming effect on Lung due to the warming eggs and grounding sesame oil. The fiber-rich structure of the psyllium husks provides stability and helps to reduce nervousness or inner restlessness.

Tripa (Fire, transformation):
For Tripa types, who often carry heat and sharpness within them, the bread is neutral to slightly cooling. Due to the mild ingredients, it does not have a heating effect and is well suited to soothe excess fire.

Beken (Earth/Water, stability):
Psyllium husks have a slightly drying and regulating effect, which can balance Beken. Since Beken types often deal with heaviness and sluggishness, the airy, fiber-rich pancake bread brings lightness without weighing them down.

Ingredients for a Skillet Bread

  • 2 organic free-range eggs
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp baking powder or 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 lightly heaped tablespoon of fine psyllium husk powder
  • Black and/or white sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Whisk the eggs with the apple cider vinegar, baking powder or baking soda and sesame oil.
  2. Prepare the pan, grease it and heat it over medium heat.
  3. Finally, stir in the fine psyllium husk powder.
  4. Add some sesame seeds to the pan and quickly spread the batter in the hot pan.
  5. Cook on both sides for 3-4 minutes.

Tip: This goes particularly well with a garlic herb yogurt dip, tahini-lemon sauce, or a Mediterranean classic such as olive tapenade made from black olives, capers and garlic.
